Preschool Story Time

The Lamoni Public Library offers a Preschool Story Time program to promote literacy in children before they begin formal schooling. We believe it is highly important to start kids reading at an early age, and studies have shown that reading aloud to a child, more than talking, builds literacy.

Kaleigh Stevenson, an assistant librarian, delights in choosing a theme for each week and creating craft projects for the kids. She has been leading the story time for several years, and constantly works to keep each craft new to the kids attending, as well as something they will enjoy – like crafts that involve glue!

We invite parents to bring their kids to sing songs, listen to the stories, and create an artsy masterpiece some place other than home where we bring the supplies and we clean up after!

Meets: Fridays at 10am

Age: 2 1/2-5 (Older and younger friends and relatives of all ages are invited to join in the fun!)

Includes: songs, numerous book readings, a related craft project, and occasionally a game and/or fun activity!

If you have any questions, feel free to contact the library via phone, email, or even stop by the circulation desk and speak to an assistant librarian.
